The Surprising Connection Between Back Stiffness and Pain In Your Elbows and Knees

How the root cause of your elbow and knee pain might actually be in your back.

Asset 57

Stiff joints in the back put pressure on the dense network of nerves connected to and blood vessels surrounding the spine, causing compromised nerve transmission and blood circulation to the arms and legs.

Asset 56

Stiffness that accumulates in the joints in the back spreads through the fascia to cause pain and discomfort in seemingly unrelated areas of the body, such as the elbows and knees.

Asset 55

Loosening stiff joints in the back is often the best solution to these issues, but is frequently overlooked in traditional treatment methods despite being proven to make the biggest difference.

How Stiff Joints are Limiting Your Performance

Repetitive Stress

Repetitive
Stress

Athletes who regularly engage in repetitive motions, such as swinging a tennis racket, may experience joint stiffness due to the strain on their muscles and joints over time.

"I ended up doing 5+ sessions just to increase the mobility in my back"

We had one guest, who was a runner, and a really fit person. But, he arrived with a trapped nerve, or sciatica - that’s what he was complaining of. I suggested he use BackHug and he used it then 5 times in the 3 days and it just helped keep it in check for him. He mentioned in his review afterwards: “The device saved our trip, as I ended up doing 5+ sessions just to increase the mobility in my back. This was especially critical on the day we walked up Artur’s Seat.”

Talking about how BackHug saved a runner's holiday.

What's The Back Got To Do With It?

Compressed nerves

Most of the pain we experience is a response to pressure on our nerves. So, to fix your pain, you need to remove the pressure from those nerves.

But where does that pressure come from?

Nerves compressed inside stiff joints

The stress on your nerves almost always comes from the joints in your back. That's because the nerves in your neck, back, arms, and legs all start from the joints in your back.

Bain in centre of the back

Your back is a magnet for stress in the body: It keeps you upright and bears the weight you carry. That stress accumulates as stiffness in the joints in your back, and just as a bicycle chain gets rusty in the rain, the joints in your back get stiff under stress.

Pain spreading through body

Stiff joints in the back don't just cause pain in the back; the stiffness travels through the fascia to other parts of your body, resulting in headaches, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, tight hamstrings, tight calves, Achilles tendinitis, and much more.

No! Massage chairs treat muscle tightness. BackHug treats joint stiffness. Massage chairs use large balls and rollers that move up and down the neck and back but can't reach your joints. BackHug uses human-sized robotic fingers that go deep into the knots and stiffness in the joints of the back, neck and shoulder blades.

No! If you bruise easily, please do not use BackHug. You will find out if BackHug is for you or not during the first 30-day trial period. Alternatively, you can reduce the strength of the fingers or wear additional clothing to prevent bruising.
